one year
i celebrated my one year anniversary as a drone of my current company last saturday. and i somewhat remembered that i saved a reminder in my old phone about that day. checking the calendar of my phone, it reads,
"hoi! nasa wxxsxx wxxtx ka pa? poor you...>_<"
i probably wrote that when i still didn't know what i was doing and felt that i wasn't cut out for the job. but now things are not looking down... but they aren't looking up. right now everything looks flat. which i know is not bad but also not good but is what i want for the moment. although i wouldn't be surprised if i change my mind in a few of months.

this is not a crisis
i know most of you already read the email that has been circulating describing what is a quarter life crisis. i myself have read this about two(?) years ago and was surprised how it accurately approximated how i was going through then. forward to today where i received a copy of the same(?) email. i decided to give it another read and see if what was written there still applies to me. well it still does, but what i noticed now is that it has an overall helpless and depressing tone. although it grazes the bullseye most of the time, i for one don't feel helpless at all.
maybe i'm just over the boundary age of the quarter life.
~~~
is it my memory gapped mind or has this quarter life article that i just received a different version of the one that i read a years ago? as far as i can remember the article that i read a while back didn't end by sighting passages from the bible and turning to god for strength. (here i go again. time to sound atheistic again.) it sounded border line preachy and used god as a deus ex machina. i know that god probably is the only thing that is universal that anyone can relate to or have an idea of and i have no beef with god but why does it have to end that way?
in the meantime or not
funny how simple five or ten questions can accurately depict where i am now.
Your Love Song Is |
Sitting, Waiting, Wishing by Jack Johnson "Maybe you've been through this before But it's my first time so please ignore The next few lines cause they're directed at you I can't always be waiting, waiting on you I can't always be playing, playing your fool" You've been waiting for love, and you're not going to wait any longer! |
Your Job Satisfaction Level: 50% |
Your job is about average. There are some parts you really enjoy, and some parts that stress you out. It's possible that you need a small change. Maybe you should switch companies or positions. It's also possible that you're simply burned out. No job is perfect, even a great one. Give yourself a personal day to think about your career goals - and if your current job is helping you achieve them. |
si giripat
i don't like repeating myself. i make it a point, as much as possible, to not to repeat any words that i already used in a paragraph, unless i want to emphasize a point. and you'd rarely hear me talk about my blog posts during conversations with friends. i don't know why i'm like that. maybe because i'm just wired that way.
so if when we're talking and it seems that i've already told you that story, blame it on my memory being rusty. (ahh yes, an obvious sign of aging... *sigh*)
winning a battle, losing the war
the sun sets on the war,
the day breaks and everything is new...
~~~
i say this a perfect song for this kind of weather. makes me wanna look out the window as the rain gently patters against it or just simply sleep the rainy day away.

reverse dictionary
let say you came across a new word that you don't know the meaning of. first thing that you'll probably do is ask a friend (if one is with in the vicinity). If not you wait until you get home pick a dictionary or go online and look for the meaning of the word.
now what if you have a definition of a word in mind but can't remember the actual word for it? what do you do? of course you can always ask a friend for the exact word. but what if he doesn't know. you certainly can't go home, pick up the dictionary and go trough each word to find the right word. what you can do is go to the closest word that matches your definition and substitute it with that word, sub-standard it may be.
so what i'm proposing is, if it is not done already, is a reverse dictionary where you'd type in your definition and the word you're looking for pops out. genius right?
(or you could just probably grab a thesaurus or go online and google the word. hehe. :P)
