@kimi: i guess it depends on the way you're thinking about that someone. If you can't stop thinking about your schoolmate who stole your RAZR for example, then I don't think that can be classified as "missing him/her"..
And to add, sometimes NOT thinking about someone may also mean that you're missing them. Self-preservation may drive you into doing that.
question: is thinking of someone synonymous to missing that someone?
