we never really do get the things that we want. so we merely are forced to settle for things that we already have.

but that ain't right...

  1. Hi Jam. A little positive note here from me, the queen of melodrama...

Why not find something else to do that you also want/like?

It isn't settling for less or for what you have now but finding something else truly worth it and that (surprisingly) turns out to be better than what we originally wanted.

  2. I must respectfully disagree. I get what I want all the time. ^_^ It's a matter of not letting the little things get in the way.

you can then lower your standards, or try to get them through force or deception.

  6. Maybe. But in the end it's settling for something you actually want and would make you happy. It's not the settling/giving up kind of settling.

There's so much to do, so much to see, so much to know, so many people to love. We can't close our eyes to the other possibilities and be blinded by what's in front of us. If we could only see the sun how can we see the beauty of the stars? (Medyo agaw yun sa concept ng Nightfall ni Asimov ^_^)

And somehow you and I might end up like Chico getting the things we wanted and never knew we wanted after all. If not at least we never settled for regrets and unhappiness.
